Investiture Ceremony Honors Endowed Appointment of Prof. Paul Leonardi

(Santa Barbara, California) - The Technology Management Program and Office of Development celebrated the endowed appointment of Prof. Paul Leonardi at the investiture ceremony on November 9, 2015 at Mosher Alumni House.

Leonardi is the Duca Family Professor of Technology Management and the Investment Group of Santa Barbara Founding Director of the Master of Technology Management Program. He delivered his inaugural lecture entitled, “Visible: Technology Management and Innovation in the Digital Age.”

The investiture ceremony also honored the Investment Group of Santa Barbara and Reece Duca for their support. The Investment Group of Santa Barbara (IGSB) is a private investment firm that makes seed and early stage investments in companies with outstanding business models. Reece Duca is an alumni of UCSB and has been a supporter of the College of Engineering, including the Master of Technology Management Program

Office of Development: At UC Santa Barbara, private philanthropic support is central to maintaining the quality of teaching, research, and public service. One of the most important types of gifts to higher education is an endowed chair, for an endowed chair ensures faculty excellence.

Created by a philanthropic gift, these highly prized academic positions are supported by earnings from invested funds. The proceeds from the endowment provides enrichments, such as research money and support for instruction, that are important to the recruitment and retention of the world's greatest scholars.
