UC Santa Barbara’s New Venture Fair

Community Invited to Join the University in Celebration and Support of New Venture Creations

WHO: The Technology Management Program at UC Santa Barbara proudly hosts the New Venture Fair

WHAT: UC Santa Barbara’s New Venture Fair 2017 – A wide array of presentations from the University’s most innovative student tech-entrepreneurs. The Fair will highlight the business ideas of 19 student teams in a tradeshow-like event, complete with product demonstrations, poster boards, and informational sessions. The following teams are moving on to the Fair:

Allthenticate; AntTrapper; BranchOut; Campus Calendar; Carma; Collatera; Cryptix; Dealio; Delta Leaf Labs; DiveSB; Elsebound; Fluidic Solutions; Fresh Picked; OrganicMatters; Orisun; Orzana; PhantaField; Rewarded; Sunset Power Solutions; Wanderlease.

The students participating in the Fair have been working on their ideas for several months, and represent the brightest, most motivated, aspiring entrepreneurs on campus. The Fair gives the local community a first look at the University’s most innovative student tech-entrepreneurs.

WHERE: Corwin Pavilion, UC Santa Barbara

WHEN: Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

WHY: The Technology Management Program is dedicated to the development of business and innovation in an increasingly technology-based global economy. UC Santa Barbara and the Central Coast of California are remarkably fertile grounds for innovation and new venture creation. Through programs like the New Venture Competition, we are bringing leaders of the tech-industry together to collaborate with the University and help create economic growth for our community.

DETAILS: The New Venture Fair is free and open to the public. It is attended by executives, entrepreneurs, investors, academics, and other members of the community who all have a common interest in business and innovation. Visitors of the Fair are invited to walk the competition floor and enjoy a networking reception on the patio. Community judges will be asked to evaluate the teams and help determine which teams will advance to the May 24th New Venture Competition Finals, where they will compete for cash prizes.
