Students Get 90 Seconds to Pitch their Business Ideas

(Santa Barbara, California) - UCSB students and business community mentors came together on Thursday, December 1st to hear participants pitch their business ideas at the Elevator Pitch Social in Corwin Pavilion.

At this event, the “pitchers” had 60 to 90 seconds to present their business idea and identify the help they need to develop it.

For students who are interested in participating in the 17th Annual New Venture Competition for 2016, this was a perfect opportunity for them to pitch their business idea, find team members, showcase their personal skill sets, and meet mentors from the Central Coast business community. Students work in multidisciplinary teams under the guidance of many experienced advisors and mentors, many of who are successful entrepreneurs and business executives.

The Elevator Pitch Social was one of the highlights of the New Venture Competition season. The New Venture Competition is an entrepreneurial program open to graduate and undergraduate students currently enrolled at UCSB, and provides participants with the opportunity to learn how to start a business. The 17th Annual New Venture Competition will be held on May 19, 2016 at UC Santa Barbara Corwin Pavilion.
