Project Scientist, Technology Management Program

Bei Yan is a project scientist at the Technology Management Program, University of California, Santa Barbara. Bei studies technology-supported collaboration and influence processes of groups, ranging from small teams interacting with intelligent personal assistants (IPAs) to large online crowdsourcing communities.  Bei specializes in experiments (online and offline) and analyzes big behavioral trace data of online groups using computational methods. 

Prior to joining TMP, Bei received her PhD degree from the Annenberg  School for Communication, University of Southern California. She has a double master’s degrees in Global Media and Communications from the London School of Economics and the University of Southern California. Bei graduated from Renmin University of China with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
