Ioana (Jo) Cristea

Project Scientist, Technology Management Program

Ioana (Jo) Cristea is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Technology Management Program at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is also the Visiting Scholar Coordinator for the program. Dr. Cristea’s research focuses on how companies can leverage their globally distributed workforce to improve the effectiveness of collaboration and knowledge sharing with the help of communication technologies.

She received her Ph.D. from Aarhus University, Denmark, where she was affiliated with the Interdisciplinary Center for Organizational Architecture (ICOA) and the Department of Management. During her doctoral studies, Jo was a SCANCOR Visiting Scholar at Stanford University and a Visiting Scholar at Northwestern University. At the same time, together with a team of three other science doctoral students, they were the national finalists of the Venture Cup Idea Competition in Denmark, and rewarded for their work on FITit – a Virtual Fitting Platform.  Prior to her Ph.D., Jo earned a double Master of Science Degree as a EURECA Scholar from Aarhus University, Denmark, and the Technical University in Munich, Germany.
