Matthew Stotts has been actively angel investing in consumer and enterprise technology for the past nine years, and is currently focused on impact investments in open-source software aimed at social and environmental change.
Matthew founded Tenor Partners, a technology marketing and VC advisory in Silicon Valley in 2003. To date, Tenor has worked with over 90 tech management teams from pre-seed to IPO and helped two dozen venture capital firms with branding, deal flow and fundraising, representing over 30 funds and $8 billion in assets under management.
In addition to his years as a lecturer and mentor to UC Santa Barbara's entrepreneurial community, he is the Chair of the MIT Enterprise Forum of the Central Coast and Vice-Chair of the Sustainable Change Alliance, a community-focused impact investment network. Matthew is a graduate of UC Berkeley and a former instructor at Stanford University EPGY (Education Program for Gifted Youth) from 1997-1999.
