Cindy Mayer serves as adjunct faculty at UCSB for 9 years, teaching in both the College of Engineering Technology Management program and in the Professional and Continuing Education department. Her business career includes more than 20 years in Human Resource leadership roles focused on organizational design, building and developing teams, leadership development, employee engagement, succession planning, and organizational management.

Cindy’s experience includes providing strategic and tactical HR leadership in both enterprise and mid-size technology companies, including her experience as an HR Business Partner and Manager of Learning and Development at PeopleSoft, Inc., Director of Human Resources at Jacada, Inc., Vice, President of Technology Staffing at SunTrust Banks, Executive Director of Talent Acquisition at Cingular Wireless/AT&T Mobility, Vice President of Recruitment at Disney ABC Television Group, and Sr. Director - HR Business Partner at Lynda.com. At Lynda.com, she authored and presented the course “Hiring Your Team” which is available for viewing at Lynda.com.

Cindy graduated with honors from Illinois State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree as well as her master’s degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology. She earned her second master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. In addition to teaching and consulting in small to medium sized organizations, Cindy has a private practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
