UCSB Alumni Among Forbe's 30 Under 30 List

The 2017 Forbes 30 Under 30 is the most definitive gathering of today’s leading young change-makers and innovators in the U.S. Now in its sixth year, the 30 Under 30 offers an annual opportunity to embrace the optimism, inventiveness and boldness of youth. Two UC Santa Barbara alumni were among the Forbes’ 2017 30 Under 30 list who started their ventures while in college and were former students of the Technology Management Program.

Sieva Kozinsky, Co-founder, StudySoup

StudySoup is a peer-to-peer marketplace for college students. The demand: Quality course notes, study guides and tutoring services by class, professor or note-taker. The supply: Top providers can make about $500 per course. Some 2,000 notetakers, 150 schools and more than 500,000 students are part of the StudySoup network, and subscriptions cost between $11 and $30 a month. Kozinsky has $1.7 million in funding from investors such as 500 Startups and 1776 DC. The Ukrainian native says the spark for StudySoup was ignited while a sophomore at UC Santa Barbara.

Eric Posen, Co-founder, Naritiv

Launched the company, which connects brands with its network of Snapchat influencers and stars and develops campaigns for them, out of the Disney Accelerator program in 2014. Counts Coca-Cola, Disney, Target and Fox, among others, as clients. Has raised $3.5 million to date from investors including Techstars and Disney.
