MTM Priority Fellowship Consideration Deadline -  December 1, 2024

MTM applicants are strongly encouraged to apply early with the first deadline quickly approaching on December 1, 2024. It is recommended that international applicants apply by this date to allow sufficient time for visa requirement processing if admitted. In honor of Veterans Day, MTM celebrates students and alumni who have served in the Armed Forces. This month we spotlight two military veterans who share their MTM experiences and how the program is a great fit for current and prior service members.

Student Spotlight: Calvin Blais (Class of 2025)

Army veteran and Santa Barbara local, Calvin Blais, joined the MTM program to bridge higher-level gaps on his resume and deepen his expertise in technology. Supported by UCSB’s Veteran Affairs Department, he used his GI benefits to support his graduate degree.

Alumni Spotlight: Phebe Cornell (Class of 2024)

Active-duty Air Force Officer Phebe Cornell was selected to be part of the Advanced Academic Degree Program offered through the Air Force Institute of Technology. She now works as a Policy Analyst at the Pentagon and emphasizes MTM’s role in her success. “The things I learned at MTM were invaluable for me to be successful in my current role at the Pentagon.”

MTM Students Visit Amazon in Santa Barbara

Last month, MTM students visited Amazon Santa Barbara, which is home to the Alexa Knowledge team. MTM students met current Amazon leadership and team members (including several UCSB alumni!), learned about different roles within Amazon, and gained insight into Amazon's hiring processes.
