Alumni in the News - Isabel Petty, Class of 2019
Isabel Petty (MTM ‘19) was recently featured in a Leader Spotlight by LogRocket and shared her expertise in leading innovative, fast-paced organizations.
Starting with a BA in music studies and earning a master’s in Technology Management from UCSB, Isabel has created a successful career in product management. After a career at Walmart, Gritwell, and Pattern Brands, she now leads website development and UX/UI testing at TUSHY, a sustainable bidet company.

Grad Spotlight: Shelby Salling, Class of 2018
After earning her bachelor’s degree, Shelby Salling sought to bridge the knowledge gap between her business knowledge and her existing technology experience, making UCSB’s MTM program the obvious choice.
Shelby shares,“What made the program truly exceptional was the access to experts in their fields, who provided invaluable context about the [technology] landscape.” She found that the rich curriculum and in-depth discussions with instructors offered a truly immersive learning experience.
Shelby is currently a Technical Business Developer at Amazon Web Services (AWS) within the Worldwide Specialist Organization, where she builds go-to-market plans for multiple AWS computing products. Reflecting on her journey, she adds, “Without going through MTM, I would not have the strong foundation that I need to allow me to excel in this role.”

Grad Spotlight: Joshua Tan, Class of 2016
Joshua Tan, a graduate of the inaugural MTM class of 2016, currently works as a Strategic Solutions Engineer at Varonis, a leading Data Security Posture Management platform.
After working as a business analyst in the automotive industry, Joshua was drawn to the MTM program to expand his knowledge of high-tech industries. He emphasizes that one of the highlights of the program was the field project, which provided invaluable hands-on experience and helped him find a company that truly values professional growth.
“MTM equips you with the skills to adapt and succeed in tech, whether you start as a product associate or move up from customer success,” Joshua says.
