The only prerequisite is Sophomore standing or higher. There are no course prerequisites. Our program is also available to students from any major.
No, our courses can be taken in any order, although it’s recommended to take the required courses before continuing on to the electives.
Courses taken through UCSB Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) will not count as units towards qualifying as a full time student for the quarter. However, you may apply them to be counted towards your degree.
Yes! You can request to transfer the units from your TMP X101 (or X111 if you took it before Summer 2025) by requesting a copy of your transcript from PaCE and sending it to the UCSB Office of Admissions.
You are apply one course from the list of approved electives towards your certificate.
You may take any Technology Management courses simultaneously.
We have several scholarships available each quarter, to be applied towards the Certificate Fee paid to PaCE. Any scholarships awarded are paid directly to PaCE on the student’s behalf. Please see the Scholarships tab for deadlines and more information.
Participation in the New Venture Program is not required, but pairing the two programs provides students with a very well-rounded experience.
Technology Management classes can only be taken for a letter grade, with the exception of TMP X101, which is a P/NP course.

To earn degree or unit credit for courses taken through PaCE, upon course completion students must order an official transcript from Extension and have it sent to the UCSB Office of Admissions at Click here to show mail address.
